DOMUS IMPLUVIUM - CAPELAS, AZORES - 2002-2006
A triangular shaped site on the north-west of st. Michael offers views of the entire north shore and ocean, and the mountain and volcano of Sete-Cidades at south. Memories of the dwellings on Pompey, with the classic greek model of the two patio house, one central, collecting the rain water and maintaining temperature and ambience, other for the entrance and relation with public acess offered the best configuration to the site. The strong tall stone chimney from local popular architecture enclosed the kitchen, and embraced the wood volumes for the rooms and view lines upstairs.
